A temple with over 1,100 years of history in Suma,
with many treasures and historical sites, including the Aoba flute beloved by Taira Atsumori, Benkei’s bell, and the pine tree on which Yoshitsune sat

Known nationwide as an “ancient temple associated with the Genpei War,” many writers and artists have visited since ancient times to reminisce about the romance of the Genpei War, and there are stone monuments with haiku and poetry scattered throughout the spacious grounds.

Open grounds with historical buildings and dry landscape gardens
