The Kobe Guest House, with its beautiful Japanese-Western architecture, has been welcoming many distinguished guests for over 100 years on the hilltops of Suma
The scenic Suma is a place where you can enjoy Hyogo, a treasure trove of ingredients. Kobe Guest House was built there in 1919. The vast grounds of approximately 10,000 m2 are dotted with the Western-style main building, Japanese garden, teahouse, chapel, and new building “THE VIZCAYA GARDEN”. Its overwhelming presence and value have been recognized, and it is currently designated as an Important Tangible Cultural Property designated by Hyogo Prefecture.
A timeless Taisho modernist mansion
Kobe Geihinkan is a precious building that was built in 1919 by Nishio Ruizo, a wealthy trading company owner, and has been brought back to life in modern times with its interior intact. It has been designated an Important Tangible Cultural Property by the prefecture, and was once a social gathering place for VIPs from around the world. Experience the unique beauty of the building, where the Secession style that flourished in Vienna at the end of the 19th century and subtle Japanese design come together.
Venue Introduction
Phoenix Room
The orthodox Phoenix Room, with its Japanese charm, is the main banquet hall located on the second floor of the main building. In this elegant space, covered with a deep red carpet, the beautiful Taisho-period furnishings, such as the transom in the shape of a phoenix, which is the origin of the room’s name, the kumiko work that creates delicate shadows, and the shoji screens that highlight the craftsmanship of the artisans, create a dignified atmosphere.
VIP ROOM
A VIP room on the first floor of the main building, surrounded by a stately interior. The prestigious atmosphere of the space gives it a private feel, making it ideal for small banquets and dinner parties, allowing you to spend a relaxing and luxurious time.
THE VIZCAYA GARDEN
In addition to the spacious party space with a kitchen, you can rent out the entire building, which includes a lobby space for aperitif parties, a waiting room, a terrace, and other fully-equipped facilities.

The Kobe Guesthouse offers a wide variety of party venues to choose from, including the main building, which is a masterpiece of Taisho-era architecture, the new building, which is equipped with all the facilities necessary for original parties, and the English garden, which has been designated a scenic spot.
Kobe-style French cuisine, with history and tradition
We use an abundance of ingredients from Hyogo Prefecture, a treasure trove of ingredients, to present fresh vegetables picked that morning, seafood just landed, and brand beef on one plate. Please enjoy our dishes, which are infused with the chef’s boundless spirit of inquiry.
