Enjoy a moment in a prestigious teahouse with the majestic sight of Osaka Castle as a backdrop

The teahouse Toshoan is located inside the OSAKA GEIHINKAN Former Guest House , which was built to entertain dignitaries from various countries as the stage for the international conference “APEC’95 Osaka.” The spectacular view of Osaka Castle from the “Castle Room” is particularly impressive and worth a visit. It is an authentic teahouse with a cypress bark roof, wooden one-story architecture, and Sukiya style, and you can experience serving tea while looking out over the castle tower.

Osaka Castle has a deep connection to the tea ceremony.
A hospitality space that lets you think back to the culture.

It is said that Osaka Castle and the tea ceremony have a deep connection because Taiko Toyotomi Hideyoshi welcomed Sen no Rikyu and enjoyed the tea ceremony there. In 1969, Konosuke Matsushita donated a tea room to the city of Osaka, hoping that the citizens of Osaka Castle Park would enjoy tea. HOSHO-AN’s Kanji comes from Toyotomi Hideyoshi’s Kanji, “Toyo”, Matsushita Konosuke’s Kanji “Matsu”, and Hideyoshi’s pen name “Matsu”.
