In 1996 it was registered as a national tangible cultural property, and was later designated as a historic architectural structure by the city of Kyoto.

One of the new features added after the large-scale construction work was the flattening of the first floor seating. The seating area and stage have been integrated into one space, making it possible to hold more immersive events. By using the open space for events with customer participation and parties, various possibilities become possible.
